Thomas L. Abrams received his
undergraduate degree from Florida State
University in 1984, and his law degree from FSU
in 1988. He is admitted to practice before the
United States District Court for the Southern
and Middle Districts of Florida, the United
States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern and
Middle Districts of District of Florida, and all
state courts in Florida. He practices in all
aspects of Bankruptcy (creditor and debtor) and
Commercial Litigation.
While at FSU, Mr. Abrams
served as Student Body President and as Chairman
of the State Council of Student Body Presidents.
He also served as a member of the Leon County
Civic Center Authority Board, and received the
Academic Leadership Award from the College of
Social Science.
Mr. Abrams served as Co-Legal
Advisor to Broward Days and previously served as
Legal Advisor and Board Member of Youth Crime
Watch of America from 1995-2005, an organization
which honored Mr. Abrams as "Business Man of the
Year" in 1999. He is a member of the Broward
County Civil Rights Committee for the
Anti-Defamation League and from 1988 to 1993 was
a United Way Big Brother. His hobbies include
golf and tennis. He is married with two children
born in 1995 and 1999.
Originally an associate with
the national law firm of Kelley Drye & Warren,
Mr. Abrams subsequently became a partner with
Berger & Davis Law Firm which is now Berger
Singerman. He started his own Practice in 1997
to enable him to more effectively and
efficiently serve his clients. Mr. Abrams is
affiliated with Gamberg & Abrams, a partnership
of professional Associations.
The Martindale-Hubbell legal
directory, which rates lawyers and law firms
nationally, has assigned an AV. rating to Mr.
Abrams, which is the highest rating a lawyer can
achieve. He is a member of the Bankruptcy Bar
Association for the Southern District of
Florida, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the
Business Law Committee of the Florida , and is
intimately involved in raising funds to find
gentler and more effective cures for childhood
cancer through the I CARE I CURE Foundation. Mr.
Abrams was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August
11, 1961.
